Brickies dare to hope that price rises are finally levelling off

Read the interview in The Sunday Times' with our MD James Costello

With more than 30 years experience in land acquisition, design, planning and construction, Elevate is well placed to offer insight on the effects of soaring inflation on both our regional economy and our sector.

That’s why The Sunday Times’ City Editor Jill Treanor gave managing director James Costello a call last week to find out whether the green shoots of economic stability were being reflected in pricing on the ground.

The answer? Yes…. And no.

James added: “As I told The Sunday Times, we’ve seen huge increases in materials costs over the last two years which is challenging for us, the construction industry and supply chains more generally.

“But there are early indications that some stability is returning - prices aren’t necessarily coming down, but they’re not going up either.

“What we do pro-actively on projects is look to have some degree of certainty on costs, which is good for business, our contractors and suppliers and ultimately our buyers too.”
